Addiction takes many forms, but shares a common definition. "A brain disorder expressed as a compulsive disorder." The most common addiction is tobacco dependence, followed by alcohol, opiate and cocaine as well as marijuana, sedatives and amphetamine dependance.  Many drugs with the potential for severe health consequences are also abused including hallucinogens, steroids and inhalants.  There are a number of effective behavioral ad medical treatments available to treat addiction.
